Dear Agony Aunt
My best
friend has been really acting weird. She
doesn't want to be friends with me, and I don't know why! I can't talk to her
because she always ignores me. My other friend has made up with her, and I feel
left out. I've talked to my mum, and she says to stick up for myself. But, it's difficult because I am really
scared. I feel like crying, but I don't
want my friend to see me that way and feel she has won.
Left Out
Dear Left
Out
You may
have considered this girl your best friend, but she evidently didn't have such
warm feelings for you. Girls can be such
snotty people, sometimes. Their friendships and ideals change on a whim. There is no way to even begin to figure out
what has made your friend start acting so oddly toward you. It may be something that is happening in her
personal life, or she may feel jealous of you for some reason.
When a girl
feels threatened by another girl, most do not know how to deal with their
feelings. What they do, instead, is to
hurt and tear down the other girl. They will talk about another girl behind her
back and try to make everyone not like her.
By doing this, the girl feels a sense of power. Some girls even go as
far as to try and ruin another girl's reputation through slander.
I am sorry
you were involved with such an insecure girl.
She may look popular and self-assured on the outside, but I can almost
guarantee you that on the inside, she is a very insecure and vindictive person. Until she matures, I wouldn't want to resume
the friendship. I am sure there are
other girls who have fallen victim to this girl's catty way. Befriend those girls and make yourself an
entire new circle of friends. When you find someone who is genuine, you will
have a better friendship with them.
Good
Riddance to the Old Friend-
