My next door neighbors have started rowing quite a lot, they scream at each other, the husband throws things, they swear a lot, and this is all in front of their three children, a girl and boy about six seven, and a two month old newborn.
They row so loud i can hear them with all the windows shut.
Well, a couple of nights ago they were arguing again, really going at it, and i heard their little girl scream, like really scared screaming. So i rang the police, they came and the shee was mouthy and got arrested, the husband went mad and threatened the officers, and started defending her, and was throwing abuse at the neighbors, vowing to kill whoever called the police.
I feel scared and guilty, all at the same time, apparently he'd smashed up the front room in front of the children, was i right to call them, should i call them if it happens again, and should i keep it to myself? Help, please, it breaks my heart to see the children crying their eyes out, petrified.

You were ABSOLUTELY 100% RIGHT TO CALL THE POLICE; PLS DON'T HESITATE TO DO SO AGAIN. THIS MAN IS AN ABUSER AND COULD BE A SEROUS RISK TO HIS CHILDREN.

Don't be afraid of him; he has no way of knowing who called the police; he's a bully& a coward and can't do anything to you.

It's a good idea to document what he does and contact Social Services to take away the kids if necessary before he abuses them even more. You'll feel guilty if yr silent from fear & innocent children pay the price for yr silence.

So, be brave and do the right thing. Good luck.

always call. what if something happened to one of the children? you could be saving them.
it is worth writing a journal of every argument or disturbance you are aware of, especially where the children are involved. it may be worth expressing your concerns to social services aswell as the police.
