My mum is always moaning at me PDF Print E-mail
Written by Agony Aunt
my mum is always on my back about my bedroom, and how its messy. . . but its not. sometimes she'll vacuum up to four times a day, and wake me up with the hoover. she even hoovers when it doesn't need doing.
When we're having dinner me and my sister put our homework on the floor, and she starts shouting at us and swearing really bad. saying stuff like: Im sick of you p***in' kids.
sometimes it really does get to me like when she hoovers at half 9 at night.
and when i go out at weekends she always makes me dust and sweep my room before i go, saying how messy it is.

i know exactly how you feel. with me it feels as though she goes on and on and on just for the sake of it. At the moment im grounded and i dont even no y! its as though she just hates the sight of me but what i dont understand is that shes always telling me to get out of her way (along with the swearing and cussing) yet she doesnt let me out which i cant seem to understand. Even if your mom is stressed out she shouldnt take it out on you but if shes like my mom then theres no talking to her. if i was you just listen first time round and dont argue back with her, its taken me 6months to realise that, it does work i promise...also offer to help clean the house...

Try to keep your room clean so you keep your mom off your back. Maybe she's tired& has a lot to do& gets frustrated. Tell her you're sad when she swears at you (she shouldn't do that) and that you want to help. Then find a time of day to tidy your room daily even if you just take 10 mnts to tidy up and hoover.

Then just live your own life. Study, go out with friends, and keep out of your mom's way. In a few years, you won't live at home and it won't matter anymore. Just try to be polite and get along with her for now. And get out with your friends when you get frustrated.

Your problem
sounds exactly like mine
im 19 and still live at home, i pay rent m
and my mum still goes on and on about how untidy or dis organised
my room is.
But you know what show her that you love cleanning your room,
and doing things round the house
cause then she wont moan at you again
i can promise you that,
